Our Favorites

Let’s eat! Here’s some of our favorites in the greater Wilmington area.

We’re still trying new places almost every day and curating them here for our visitors to The Dockside. Stay tuned and visit often as we eat and drink our way through Wilmington.

walkable: chic and fresh — just like the Dockside.

Seabird is Wilmington’s newest jewel for seafood.

Set in a historic building in downtown Wilmington, Seabird celebrates the seasonality of the seafood and ingredients found in North Carolina and its storied coast. Beer, wine, and handcrafted cocktails will be enjoyed by all alongside
oysters and shellfish caught by local, small-scale fishermen.

Cugino Forno – WOW

Their fifth location in the US, and of course, our favorite :). Wood fired, Napoli style pizza that’s as good as Nashville’s DaSano’s — and just 1/2 mile from The Dockside.  Start with the Americano and work your way through
the menu. You can also deliver to the Dockside with Uber Eats.

Literally next door

The Marina Grill

Enjoy amazing seafood and boutique cocktails at the Marina Grill — right here in the Port City Marina. the shipwreck shrimp literally brought me to tears the first time I tried them — the closest to my dear mother’s gulf shrimp recipe
that I have ever tasted. She would be proud.

Short walk. Try it for Brunch.

Savorez

Wilmington native Sam Cahoon’s downtown restaurant offers what his website calls “local fare with Latin flair.” Formerly the executive chef at Ceviche’s, Cahoon’s menu includes a entire section dedicated to salsas, shareables like
BLT arepas and chicken tinga empanadas, and entrees like the caliente tuna, a blackened tuna filet served with cilantro-lime quinoa, pineapple salsa, oven-dried tomatoes, balsamic glaze, avocado, and pickled shallots. The lunch menu
is heavy on tacos and tostadas, and Sunday brunch is to die for.

OMG pizza

Pizza from Vivian Howard of the Food Network.

This isn’t your everyday pizza. Vivian Howard, famous for her James Beard restaurants and Food Network status has created this one-of-a-kind masterpiece that will delight even the snobbiest of pizza snobs. The inside decor might surprise
you — more “family restaurant” than James Beard winner — But the pizza changes that immediately. Try the “Tony Pepperoni” and keep their signature “hot honey” nearby for literally everything (even the pizza)!
